Hero Equipment Tier List: How to Pick Your Two Pieces

Every hero can equip two pieces at once — a practical framework for choosing which two, grounded in Common vs Epic and real ore costs.

Two slots, several options per hero

Every hero has access to several equipment pieces, but can only equip two at a time in any given attack — so a "tier list" for hero equipment isn't really about ranking every piece against every other piece globally, it's about picking the best two for how you actually attack. A piece that's excellent for a funneling, tanky attack can be dead weight in a spread, multi-pronged one.

The Common vs Epic split, covered in the Hero Equipment & Ore guide, is the first real constraint: Epic pieces generally hit a higher ceiling but cost dramatically more ore to max, so committing to one is a bigger, slower investment than committing to a Common piece.

Pick by hero, not by piece

Barbarian King has 8 equipment pieces to choose from, Archer Queen and Grand Warden each have 7, Royal Champion has 7, Minion Prince has 6, and Dragon Duke — the newest hero — has 4. With that many real options per hero, the two you equip should match your attack style: a tanking, front-line King wants different pieces than a King used mainly to open a compartment early and retreat.

Because ore is scarce, spreading it across many pieces for the same hero usually means none of them reach a level where they meaningfully change your attack — pick the two pieces your actual army leans on, and commit ore to those specifically instead of leveling everything a little.

Where to check exact costs

This site's Hero Equipment database lists real per-level Shiny, Glowing, and Starry Ore costs for all 39 pieces across the 6 heroes, and the Upgrade Planner checks those costs against your actual ore stockpile so you know exactly what's affordable right now instead of estimating.
